Stash Confessions

Do you have a favorite coffee cup? How about a favorite pair of socks? I have a lot of both, but I tend to reuse the same few over and over. They’re my go-tos. I probably won’t get rid of any coffee cups because there are occasions when others will use them. But my sock stash is getting out of control and I don’t see myself offering them to guests who drop by.

I think it’s time to de-stash. What do you think?

Speaking of favorites, my favorite way to drink my coffee is black. On a very rare occasion I will add flavored creamer. Today was just such an occasion and since I think coffee with cream looks prettier than black coffee I decided to take a picture.

This is my favorite winter time coffee cup.

How about you? Got any stashes to confess?

  1. I can relate to the sock problem! I had to laugh when I read this…Just this morning I was going through my MANY pairs of socks looking for certain grey ones…and I made a mental note that I really needed to go through them and get rid of some. It’s funny that this showed up to remind me! I think I’ll go now and sort through some socks!

  2. I might arguably have one of the largest stashes of vintage ephemera (some dating back to the late 1800s, old receipts, letters, school papers, and everything else) and am starting to think my stash of old linens and laces is breeding in my workroom (boxes and boxes and boxes). Something about very old stuff appeals to this very old lady.

    1. Hello Ruth! Ooo I love vintage ephemera, I find it very romantic. I don’t keep much of it though. Now linens and lace, let’s not talk about that…

  3. I am very short. When I taught I often sat on the table at the front of the room so all students could see me and I them. I learned that wearing a different pair of funny socks each day caught the attention of seventh graders. When I retired I had hundreds (No kidding!) of crazy socks. Since many were gifts, I tried to repurpose them into projects. I take my coffee empty – I have never develop a taste for it. but hot chocolate? YUM!

    1. I can just see you sitting on a table with your crazy socks dangling. Cute mental picture! You don’t like coffee?! I don’t know if we can remain friends ;)
